Tips For Getting and Staying In Shape

One of life’s great challenges is to get and stay fit. We all want to be walking around at our optimum
weight and fitness at all times, but life has a nasty habit of getting in the way. That goes double for
people with families to care for; it turns out the kids don’t care how much you need to go for a run.
So with that in mind, we are going to take a look at some of the ways you can get the most out of
your exercise with a nod to the little time you have.

Exercise Needs
The truth of the matter is that you don’t actually need to be working out that much to maintain a
healthy level of fitness. In fact, the Mayo Clinic recommends that we all get a minimum of 150 minutes
of moderate aerobic exercise per weeks, with strength training incorporated into three days. So out of
168 hours in a week, you just need to find three to maintain a healthy body. You might find that this is
attainable but you don’t quite know where yo get started, well there is no shame in seeking advice on
this matter.

The average personal trainer will have presented their gym or investors with a fitness business plan
and what this means for you is that they have a responsibility to themselves to do the best job they
can for you. So if you’re looking for a way to get in shape then employing the help of someone who
not only has the qualifications but also the responsibility to run a business centered around exercise
might not be a bad idea.

Where To Go
It’s all very well knowing that you can get fit and healthy, but it isn’t necessarily as easy to find where
to go and do your routine. Let’s take a look at your options:

Gym

The gym is the obvious place to start. These purpose built buildings will contain all of your needs and
desires for getting a solid workout in. There will be weight machines, treadmills and the previously
discussed assistance from personal trainers. Now they aren’t perfect for everyone, but if you can add
a gym membership to your finances and routine then you will have a dedicated location to get started
on your exercise regime.

Home
The home workout is one of life’s great motivational tools. It eliminates all of the problems that people
face with going to the gym such as the travel and the other eyes. To get started at home, all you need
to do is find the workout plan that works best for you. For a lot of home fitness fanatics that is yoga; the
reason for this is that all you need is a tutorial and a mat to get started.

Outdoors
Some people find the above two locations a challenge because they are restricted by four walls.
Exercise is supposed to be based in the real world for these people and that’s why open spaces and
parks are great places to be. But one of the great secrets for those of you who like a dedicated
building, you can use the outdoor to do half of your workout. Consider running or cycling to the gym to
get you started so you can focus on using the equipment you need to at the gym.
